Position located at Santa Maria Plant
POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for themanagement/operations of the Santa Maria facility during his/her assignedshift. Coordinates departmentalactivities with other managers and supervisors to ensure the safe and efficientoperation of the facility. Ensuresproduction meets budget, scheduling, and quality standards. Supervises direct reports of lead persons,production workers, maintenance, and warehouse employees on his/her assignedshift.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates the activities of the production, warehouse, and quality control personnel on his/her assigned shift.
- Monitors production lines and work areas. Visually inspects work areas and production equipment. Ensures equipment works efficiently and safely.
- Directs, assigns work to, corrects, disciplines, trains, and evaluates personnel.
- Authorizes temporary changes in job duties and corresponding wage rates as necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the facility.
- Directs daily production schedule as assigned by the Production Manager or Production Superintendent.
- Monitors and evaluates production performance to ensure performance standards, product quality, product safety, and safe working conditions are met. Adjusts product, manpower, and equipment resources as needed to ensure these issues are met.
- Identifies problems and develops appropriate solutions.
- Control cost and operates within budget parameters.
- Communicates frequently with plant management regarding production, product quality, product safety, and personnel safety.
- Maintains positive employee relations within the departments.
- Train, follow, and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Ensures a safe working environment.
- Follows all Company policies and procedures, which include SOPs, Employee Handbook, Food
JOB REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE: Must have a practical understanding of foodproduction principles, quality control, HACCP, GMP, and personnelmanagement. This is normally gained inat least two years of food production experience.
EDUCATION: High school diploma required and college degreepreferred. Five years of appropriateexperience may be substituted for formal education. Must be able to communicate effectivelyverbally and in writing. Must posses anunderstanding of management/leadership fundamentals. Must have basic mathematical reasoningability and a basic understanding of statistics.
SPECIALSKILLS: Must posses excellentcommunication skills. Bilingual(English/Spanish) a plus. Must be ableto process large volumes of information, make decisions under pressure, andprovide leadership in difficult situations.
